Itemize

See what every Amazon charge in YNAB actually was.

Itemize finds the Amazon order behind each charge in your budget and splits it into the things you bought, with tax and shipping shared out to the cent. You check it, then it's in YNAB.

For Chrome, Brave, Edge and Firefox on your computer. Free for a week, no card needed.

How it works

Set up once. Then it's a quick look and a click.

Setup takes about two minutes. After that, new Amazon charges show up ready to approve.

Step 1

Connect YNAB

Sign in with YNAB's own login and pick the cards you use on Amazon.

Step 2

Stay signed in to Amazon

Itemize reads your order history in your browser, at a normal pace, the same pages you'd open yourself.

Step 3

Review and approve

Each Amazon charge shows up with its items and suggested categories. Fix anything, approve, done.

Why it's different

Built for the annoying parts

Amazon doesn't make this easy. These are the cases that eat your Sunday.

Orders that ship in pieces

One order, three shipments, three charges on different days. Itemize works out which items each charge paid for.

Refunds

A return shows up weeks later as a random credit. Itemize ties it back to the item and its category.

Categories that learn

Put dog food in Pets once and it stays there. After a few weeks most items come pre-filled.

Nothing changes without you

Every split is shown first. Approve one, approve all, or skip.

Six Amazon stores

Amazon.com, .ca, .co.uk, .com.au, .de and .in. Not just the US.

Kept working

Amazon changes its pages often. When it does, we fix Itemize fast. That's what the subscription pays for.

Privacy

Your orders never leave your browser

Other tools ask for your Amazon password and log in from their servers. Itemize reads Amazon in your own browser, talks straight to YNAB, and keeps everything else on your computer. Our server only checks your plan. It never sees an order, a transaction or your budget.

FAQ

Questions

Do I need to give you my Amazon password?

No. You stay signed in to Amazon in your browser like normal. Itemize reads your order pages there. Your login never leaves your computer.

Does it work if I order from the Amazon app on my phone?

Yes. It reads your order history on Amazon's website, which includes orders from the app, Alexa and anywhere else. You run Itemize itself on your computer.

Does it work in Safari?

Not yet. Itemize runs in Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Vivaldi, on Mac, Windows and Linux.

What can Itemize change in YNAB?

Only the memo, category and split of Amazon transactions you approve. It never creates or deletes transactions and never touches anything else.

Is this made by YNAB or Amazon?

No. Itemize is an independent app. It uses YNAB's official API and isn't supported by YNAB or Amazon.

What happens if I cancel Pro?

Everything Itemize already wrote to YNAB stays there. New charges stop being itemized.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase if you've itemized fewer than 20 charges. See the refund policy.

Can I use one license on two YNAB accounts?

No. A license links to the first YNAB account it's activated with. You can use it on all your own browsers signed in to that account.
